Recent Workings
Recently, in the dead of winter (which in Brisbane, is rarely ever cool) I finished what I call the 'definitive' Cityscape in a style I've been struggling with for a while. With a looser approach to the skyline, I've found it much more pleasurable in the doing as well as on the eye - Playing with the rigid forms of the buildings, treated in random unrestrained ways, provides an interesting tension and presents me with an excuse to exercise my perverse love/hate relationship with the city.
The painting is now a part of my perminent display at I.C Espresso Bar on the ground floor of the Camalco Building, just across the road from the monstrous new Riparion, which features in many of my cityscapes lately.
