Easter Painting

When the crunch came, Jesus knew what He had to do.
Though this bloodletting could have meant the end of everything,
He had to play out the rescue;
The covering;
The mercy seat.

Easter was born of that day of death.
The hope of life came from His decease.
Even He knew not the future;
whether He would rise again.
His extreme obedience took Him way over the brink.

All creation stood amazed, when He was wrenched back.
And it dawned that He would not go away,
But confronts us still;
Offering the hand of friendship & transformation
In this darkening world.
