A MAN
A man in waiting. Waiting to be found. Waiting to be heard. Steeped in the ways of death. Marinated in resentment and hatred, frustration turning him to stone. Jealous of the Truth that he constantly eludes. Blinded so he cannot recognize his Maker, and is forced to gaze at a stepfather whose rough care for him is merely to be an example of how independent he can be. In all his garish glory he’s lurching on a crazy road to ruin – free, or so it would seem. But when quietened down to sleep he may hear the crackling of a fire that sizzles low but will not go out. It’s a home fire. A future fire. A fire of destiny. And in the midst of it is a map out of this furious darkness. But it’s held in two hands of a force he hasn’t reckoned with who will require a skinning. As like a cocoon is broken so the man in waiting will be bourn on the cool wind to a life as yet unknown.
